1. Prepare fresh water and make sure the following parameteres are met,

  • Temperature 25 - 28 degree celcius
  • pH level stays in the range of 7-8
  • O2 level more than 5mg/litres
  • Alkalinity level at 100-200 mg/litre
  • Hardness level at 100-300 mg/litre
  • Ammonia level at < 2.5 ppm
  • Nitrite level at < 2.5 ppm
  • Nitrate level < 40 ppm
  •

Note: 1 ppm is equavalent to 1 mg/litre. Water temperature MUST be maintained at ALL time to avoid adding stress to the fish

      2. Put 3-5 ppt (part per thousand) salt into the water.

Note: ppt is part per thousand, and 1 ppt is 1 gram/1000g water, and 1000g of water is equals to 1 litre of water. For example - 3 ppt means 3 gram per 1 litre of water

      3. Put water Japanese Yellow Powder into the water if available with measurement of 1 gram/100 litre of water.

      4. Put enough aeration into the tanks

      5. Filtration can be put into place (both mechanical or biological filtration is fine)

      6. Float the bag of goldfish into the water for 15-20 minutes, to balance the water temperature in the bag

      7. Do not feed anything to the goldfish for at least 3 days. After 3 days feed the goldfish with only pellet food. Recommended brands
are Tetra Brit Vitality or Medi Super Gold. If not available then you can feed normal goldfish pellet.

Note: Do not feed any live feed for the time being until the goldfish are accustomed to it's new environment

      8. Water change must be perform after 2 or 3 days and only 20% of the water should be changed. Don't forget to add
Japanese Yellow Powder and/or Salt into the water after every water change.

      9. Do daily water change of about 25% after the first week,  If there is no filtration in the tank. Otherwise performed water change
           every 2-3 days.

      10. Put Salt and/or Japanese Yellow Powder everytime you performed water change for the first week.

      11. Follow the following guidelines for the number of fishes to be put inside a tank (assuming the size of the tank is 1m x 1m x 60cm)

  • Junior - 8 to 10 goldfish
  • Tosai - 6 goldfish
  • Nisai - 4 goldfish
  • Oya - 2 goldfish
